We do this through shared learning and education, direct lifesaving, and continuous innovation. Muddy Paws Rescue is based in New York City and places approximately 1,000 dogs each year.

+ Licensed Veterinary Technician / Veterinary Assistant

Licensed veterinary technicians preferred; unlicensed veterinary assistants will be considered if they possess the required clinical skills.

Working in close collaboration with our staff Veterinarian and reporting to our Veterinary Clinic Manager, the Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) / Veterinary Assistant (VA) supports the planning, execution, and evaluation of our veterinary medical care program. The LVT/VA must exemplify our Muddy Paws values of being Positive, Welcoming, Supportive, and Responsive, as well as demonstrate a commitment to Fear Free Veterinary practices and a passion for shelter medicine. The LVT/VA will assist in providing veterinary services to animals in the care of Muddy Paws Rescue and visiting the Muddy Paws Rescue Clinic in accordance with the policies and procedures established by Muddy Paws Rescue, and in compliance with local, state, and federal laws.

This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position that requires flexibility, including some evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the organization, with a starting salary of $67,000+ (pay commensurate with experience and credentials) plus generous health benefits, paid time off, 401(k) match, and other pet care-related perks. Standard schedule is four days per week, with occasional five-day weeks as needed.
