Amy's Foster Just Couldn't Let Her Go

In February of 2021, Amy went to the vet for a routine spay, but her visit turned out to be anything but. Amy was under anesthesia for her spay surgery when she encountered an issue with her blood clotting. She was immediately rushed to the emergency vet where she spent a few days receiving around the clock care and at one point requiring a plasma transfusion. Needless to say, it was a very stressful (and costly) experience not only for our staff but for Amy's fosters, Brian and Lisa.

Brian had fostered big dogs for us before, but throughout the harrowing two days when Amy's condition was uncertain, he and Lisa realized that this foster was special. When Amy was released from the hospital, they welcomed her home - to her forever home.

The Pack Challenge is our new big annual fundraiser, and we have a goal of raising $110,000 to help dogs just like Amy who require unexpected medical care.

Today, Amy is living her best life with Brian and Lisa. They report "when she's not sleeping in her bed surrounded by stuffed toys that she's meticulously taken apart, she's sprinting countless laps in the backyard with her favorite ball secured in her mouth. She can play fetch for hours....and she has." Amy has come a long way since her days in the hospital, and it's because of generous Muddy Paws Pack members like you!

The Pack Challenge runs through July 31, but our work never stops. Please consider making a one-time donation. Brian and Lisa add "Amy means the world to us and we're so grateful for Muddy Paws Rescue for helping us bring Amy into our home, happy and healthy."

With your contribution to The Pack Challenge, we can continue to provide dogs like Amy, and our fosters like Brian and Lisa with the best care and support possible.
